Hi friends — I’m Andrea, the travel-obsessed heart behind Getaway Guide Travel, and I’m so glad you’re here!
I thought it was only fitting to kick off my blog with a little backstory on how I got started as a travel advisor, what inspired me, and what you can expect here as you plan your next big (or small!) adventure.
It All Started with Disney
Like many parents, I booked our first trip to Walt Disney World hoping it would be a fun family vacation — something our twins (8 years old at the time) would enjoy and remember. What I didn’t expect was how transformational it would be for all of us.
From the moment we stepped onto Main Street U.S.A. and saw their faces light up, I knew something was different. The joy, the connection, the memories we made — they stuck with me in a big way. It wasn’t just a vacation... it was an experience I wanted other families to have too.
That trip sparked something in me, and before I knew it, I was researching, planning, organizing, and helping friends build their own magical moments. I realized I had found a true passion — helping busy families and couples create stress-free, memory-filled getaways.
And here’s the proof folks!
